How far in advance of my wedding/special event should I order my dress(es)?
We recommend placing your order 5-6 months in advance for bridesmaids dresses and 6-7 months in advance for bridal gowns to avoid headaches and to ensure your dress(es) arrives with time for alterations and to avoid rush charges from the designers. If your timing is tight, many of our designers can rush dresses with only 4 weeks notice of your event, but additional rush fees will apply. If you need a dress right away, we sell many off the rack!
Are the dresses made to measure, so made to my bridesmaid's exact measurements?
The dresses are not made to measure, but rather custom ordered. What that means is you choose the colour, the style, and the fabric that you would like the dress to be made in, and then you choose your size too. We can help you determine what would be a good size by measuring your bridesmaid and then referring to the designer's size chart. Since everyone's body is different, you should expect that alterations will still be needed upon receiving your bridesmaids dresses.
Do you have any recommendations for selecting bridesmaids' dresses when my bridesmaids are very different heights and sizes?
This is very common and there are several options. You may select a single style that flatters most body types (such as an empire waist with an a-line skirt), or you may select a fabric and colour from one designer and then allow your bridesmaids to select the style that suits them best from that designer. This is a popular trend and allows the bridesmaids some individuality while still ensuring their style reflects the theme you envisioned.
Should I bring all of my girls to my appointment?
This is entirely up to you. We will ensure you and your bridesmaids have a great time selecting their dresses, but we also know that more people generally equals more opinions. The fewer opinions, the faster you will reach a decision! You may wish to narrow down your choices by looking through our website and then make an appointment to come into our store with your girls and try on a few of your favourite styles.
Will allowing my bridesmaids to select from a range of colours look mismatched in my wedding photos?
A uniform look for bridesmaids is timeless and can have great impact, but we also recommend trying different colour combinations for your bridal party. While you may not want to give your bridesmaids complete control when selecting their dress colours, you could pre-select several tones of one colour (or a combination of several colours that work well together) and then allow your bridesmaids to choose from your selected colors for their dress and trims (flowers, sashes etc.). This can produce a very beautiful result in wedding photos! Don't have a great eye for color? We would be happy to help you choose colors that work well together!
Do you have all of the styles and colours in stock?
Given the limitless combination of styles and colours, it is not possible for us to show every colour and style combination available to you. However, we have hundreds of sample dresses and hundreds of fabric swatches in our store and can help you design your dream dress from our selection.
